ESW Welcomes Lesley Young as Programme Coordinator

We are delighted to announce that Lesley Young has been appointed as Programme Coordinator at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop. In this role Lesley will deliver key areas of the research programme in connection to the residencies and related public outcomes, talks and professional development activities. She will be involved with the studio holder and member communities as well as with public and learning audiences.

Lesley Young has curated and co-ordinated projects and exhibitions in the UK, Europe and Asia. She is a founding member of Chapter Thirteen, a curatorial co-operative established in Glasgow in 2017. She initiated and ran The Salford Restoration Office with James Hutchinson to explore and critique the visual arts infrastructure of Manchester, curating exhibitions by Jeremy Deller, Dan Shipsides and Artur Zmijewski, and developing projects with Imogen Stidworthy and Katya Sander (2006-2010).

She worked closely with Christine Borland and Brody Condon on their project Circles of Focus. Between 2014 and 2017 she led the post-graduate course MLitt Curatorial Practice (Contemporary Art) for the University of Glasgow and has recently been a visiting lecturer on the MFA programme at The Glasgow School of Art.

This temporary role has been created while our Curator of Research, Dan Brown, undertakes a year long contract at the National Galleries of Modern Art on Belford Road in Edinburgh.
