Joanna Peace – Make and Model, 2019 – Commissioned Text Available

Joanna Peace was commissioned  by ESW as part of EAF’s Art Late on 15 August 2019, to  respond to Lucy Wayman’s Clovehitch. A type-set version of Make and Model, 2019 is available to download here.

Organised by Edinburgh Art Festival, the evening begins with an exploration of the exhibitions at Scottish National Portrait Gallery, before continuing on to Travelling Gallery, parked at Victoria Park, and finishing with a reading on the Hawthornvale Path by Joanna Peace.

Peace’s practice orbits around the act of writing, which is then transformed into public form, whether in publication, performance or moving image. She uses her writing to support others’ exhibitions and become the catalyst for building community.

Exhibitions include Cabinet Interventions, Pollok House, Glasgow (2018) and Voicing the Archive, CCA, Glasgow and ESW (2016) and performances including ‘Under the Dome’, Narrative, Friday Event, ECA (2017).
