Clay Portraiture with Duncan Robertson

Learn to model a clay head from life, develop observational skills and clay modelling techniques on this popular, absorbing course. Using air drying clay you will learn about anatomy, form and texture, and develop an understanding of portraiture through sculptural expression. This course is ideal for people looking to develop their artistic skills with a structured programme and clear course focus and defined output. Duncan Robertson graduated from Edinburgh College of Art and was awarded the King Edward VII Scholarship to study in Munich. He was a recent recipient of the Bothy Residency in 2019.

Duncan has over 20 years teaching experience and is a freelance gallery educator at the Scottish National Galleries and a long term tutor for ESW’s learning programme.
