This weekend course will introduce you to woodworking and joinery skills. Working with hand tools and woodworking machinery, you will learn traditional joints and tooling techniques. Machinery covered include; the planer, table saw, band saw, cross cut saw and hand tools covered include chisels, planes, measures and squares.
Come with a project in mind, a jewellery box or a small side table and make small handmade items. You will develop an understanding of woodworking that you can build on in future. This course is designed to accommodate absolute beginners or those who have some experience of the techniques involved.

Robin Burns is a freelance furniture designer and maker. A graduate of the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, he has a background in product design and architecture. His designs have an emphasis on materiality, user interaction, and permanence. Robin is based between Edinburgh and Copenhagen and also currently studies a Masters in Sustainable Design.
