Émilie Allard: End of Residency Event
Join us on 29 November 2024, 6-8 pm for an informal presentation by Émilie Allard, our current Darling Newhaven Resident!
Over the past three months, Émile Allard has been in residence at ESW, dedicating her time to mastering techniques in foundry work, organic burnout, and patina finishes. Building on her approach of transforming used objects by combining them with newly fabricated elements, she has been developing a compelling new body of work. This latest series draws on themes of recollection, labyrinths, and hyper-specialised organs, inviting viewers to contemplate the role and resonance of art in public and institutional spaces today.
This residency, organised with our partner Fonderie Darling in Montreal, and including a two week stay at Hospitalfield in Arbroath alongside other practitioners, has allowed Allard the time and freedom to experiment, explore and refine her skills. Although her work is still in progress and the questions remain open, we are delighted to invite you to an informal discussion where she will share her journey, insights, and creative process.
Join us for this unique opportunity to engage with Émilie’s work and ideas. We look forward to seeing you there!
