Gabriele Jogelaite New Technical Assistant
Following the excellent response to the recent open call and interviews, we are excited to welcome Gabriele Jogelaite as a new Technical Assistant to ESW, who starts at the end of November 2023.
Gabriele Jogelaite is a visual artist and educator. She has lived in Scotland since coming to study Fine Art at DJCAD, Dundee in 2009. She went on to complete the MLitt Printmaking degree in 2015 at GSA and TQFE degree in 2021 at University of Aberdeen. She works as an Art and Design Lecturer at Forth Valley College and previously worked as a Mould and Waxshop technician at Powderhall Bronze.
Gabriele’s artistic practice explores the qualities of line, texture and form. Her work considers movement of marks, weight and transparency of materials. The shapes, patterns and lines form an image illustrating a sense of duration and topics of ever changing personal interests. Recent exhibitions include RSA Open Exhibition in 2024.
She has done residencies at House for an Art Lover, Glasgow, Scotland; Dumfries House, Cumnock; Klaipeda Culture Communication Center (KCCC) A-i-R Program ‘Travel Agency’, Lithuania and has received awards including the Barns-Graham Travel Award self-directed residency across Poland.
You can see some of Gabriele’s work here on her website.
