Sculptural Furniture Weekend Robin Burns

This weekend course will introduce basic woodworking skills for designing and making prototypes of sculptural furniture. Through the course participants will learn:

  • Joinery and tooling techniques
  • To cut with the bandsaw and jigsaw
  • Use hand tools
  • The course will produce experimental and conceptual prototypes of furniture that can pave the way for future project.

Included in the course price: Materials, Use of tools and 7 hours of self-directed learning to be used over the duration of the course.

Robin Burns is a freelance furniture designer and maker. A graduate of the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, he has a background in product design and architecture. His designs have an emphasis on materiality, user interaction, and permanence. Robin is based between Edinburgh and Copenhagen and also currently studies a Masters in Sustainable Design.
