Workshops Week Event, Saturday, 22 April, 1 – 3pm

Open Studios, Tours and Drop In Workshops.

Come to ESW to have a tour of the workshop facilities, see what happens in our studios and get involved in a drop in activity with recycled materials. You will meet our current residents Katie Hallam (UK) and Yumiko Ono (Japan).

Tours starting at 1.00pm and 2.00pm, please book. Access by main entrance at Hawthornvale and meet in the Research Space.

During the tours you will be able to hear from team members about the ways in which we re-use and share equipment and materials at ESW. There will be a special research display by Méabh Breathnach on their Sink Trap Ware, using reclaimed clay from sink traps in communal ceramics studios.

See behind the studio doors and speak to some of our current studio and project space holders including artists in residence.

Family workshops 1.00 – 3.00pm

Outdoor Learning Studio, Courtyard, Access through Courtyard Gates

Come and make sculptures from every day recycled materials in our drop-in sculpture stations.

Studio Conversations

Working with researcher Mihaela Coman we have produced a series of informal interviews with artists in our community which you can read online (available through our homepage and social media during Workshops Week).
