Andrea Sánchez Ibarrola: Reach Scotland Resident

We are pleased to be able to welcome Mexican artist Andrea Sánchez Ibarrola for a one-week REACH Scotland Residency from 7 – 14 July 2025.

During her residency Sánchez Ibarrola is working on a series of material experimentations related to her return to the Don River in Aberdeenshire after an interval of three decades. She is responding to the natural landscape of the river-mouth and its environment, sounds, smells and textures in relation to a process of recollection. The experimentation here at ESW will include layering of paper, graphite drawings, map tracings, aerial views, clay and sand, with the opportunity to fire some works.
