Clay Figure Weekend with Duncan Robertson

Working with a life model, this weekend course introduces clay modelling techniques and develops observational skills to produce a small figure using air drying clay. Learning measuring skills, anatomy and form, you will explore the techniques and approaches associated with creating a figurative sculpture. The course tutor will work with you as a group and individually offering support and advice throughout the weekend.

Duncan Robertson graduated from Edinburgh College of Art and was awarded the King Edward VII Scholarship to study in Munich. He was a recent recipient of the Bothy Residency in 2019.
Duncan has over 20 years teaching experience and is a freelance gallery educator at the Scottish National Galleries and a long term tutor for ESW’s learning programme.
