This fast paced course offers a basic introduction to the techniques needed to make a sculptural object in steel using basic cutting, welding and drilling techniques. There will be a combination of demonstrations and practical exercises using a broad range of equipment in ESW’s Metal Workshop including the MIG welder, plasma cutter, cold saw and pillar drill.
Joe Etchell is a visual artist based in Glasgow. He graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with First Class Honours in Sculptureand has been awarded the Andrew Grant Bequest, Hope Scott Trust Award and Edinburgh Visual Artist Award. He is currently Studio Technician and CNC Specialist based at Flux CNC and Laser Studios, Glasgow. He was previously a Technician at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop and formerly the Director and a Committee Member of Embassy Gallery, Edinburgh.
