Position: Bookkeeper – Part-time, 1 day per week

Job Description
The successful applicant will be competent in all aspects of general bookkeeping, be familiar with Sage Accounts and have a good working knowledge of Word and Excel. You should be confident working independently, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. You will need to plan your own workload ensuring that all deadlines are met.
Reporting to: Director
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAIN TASKS
Statutory Financial Reporting
- Preparation of the annual audit file and associated paperwork and producing year end reports as required by the auditor
- Prepare the draft year end management accounts
- Prepare and submit VAT quarterly returns
- Provide reports as may be required by the Director and for the Board of Trustees.
Management Accounting
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Update fixed assets register
- Preparing project and budget reports as required
- Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis
Bookkeeping Tasks
- Maintain the purchase ledger, recording purchase invoices, checking that these have been coded and approved before entry
- Monitoring and managing the aged creditors and debtors lists
- Raise all invoices and requests for payment
- Maintain and post the petty cash records
- Checking postings with budget managers on a regular basis
- Credit control and dealing with supplier and customer enquiries
- Assist staff with finance queries
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience of Sage Accounts (Essential)
- Experience with VAT (Essential)
- Experience of Preparing Financial Information (Essential)
- Experience of Working within Inland Revenue Guidelines (Essential)
- Experience of Using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook (Essential)
- Experience of Working within the Third Sector (Desirable)
