Clay Portraiture Weekend with Duncan Robertson 2024

Over two days learn to model a clay head directly from life, develop observational skills and clay modelling techniques. Using air drying clay you will learn about anatomy, form and texture, and develop an understanding of portraiture through sculptural expression.

Suitable for beginners or those with some experience who wish to further develop their skills.

Duncan Robertson graduated from Edinburgh College of Art and was awarded the King Edward VII Scholarship to study in Munich. He was a recipient of the Bothy Project Residency in 2019. Duncan has over 20 years teaching experience, is a freelance gallery educator at the National Galleries of Scotland, and a long-term tutor on ESW’s Learning Programme.
