This course is designed for those with some experience of stone carving who would like to continue working on a carving with tuition and guidance. The course will allow time for individual focussed attention from the tutor, who will guide and advise you on technique.  

There are two price options for this course one: without stone (if you are already working on an existing piece); and an option to select a piece of stone if you would like to start a new piece.

Description

This course is designed to encourage you to keep working on your pieces alongside other fellow carvers.

The course includes:

  • 9 weekly group sessions at ESW.
  • Expert guidance and advice.
  • Access to stone carving tools.

We will provide Personal Protective Equipment such as appropriate dust masks and eye protection. All participants must wear their own safety shoes or boots, which you provide yourselves; we can advise on suppliers.

Alejandro Lopez graduated from the School of Fine Art, Neuquen Argentina, and has a degree in Art History from Edinburgh University. He has worked with Jorge Michelotti, has exhibited widely in Argentina, Portugal, Greece and Scotland, and made several public art commissions. He is a long-term tutor for ESW’s Learning Programme.
