Calum Craik: REACH Scotland Residency
We are delighted to welcome Calum Craik to ESW for his REACH Scotland Residency.
Calum will be in residence for the next two months developing new work and reconnecting with the Scottish arts scene after his return from the USA where he has been living and working since 2013.
Calum Craik is an interdisciplinary artist and curator. He received an MFA from San Francisco State University and a BA from the University of Edinburgh. He has exhibited nationally and internationally, which includes venues such as The Royal Standard in Liverpool, Nurture Art in Brooklyn, NY and the San Francisco Arts Commission Galleries. He has recently given a talk at Real Time and Space in Oakland, CA and has been interviewed by the Berkeley Art Center. Craik has recently completed a graduate fellowship residency at the Headlands Center for the Arts, CA the results of which were exhibited there in May 2021. His work has also been written about by critic and historian Tausif Noor for an upcoming for Foundwork.art. Craik also has taught Sculpture at San Francisco State University. Craik’s current practice is centred on the effects of neoliberal capitalism on labour and the environment.
